| Left For Dead, Fucked Up, Think I Care, They Live. |

Wow the shows this weekend were amazing... Left For Dead are without a doubt the only truly great band to come out of Canada in the mid 90's. I wouldn't have missed these shows for the world. I'm really trying to rack my brain and think of a better show I've been to and I'm lost on that one... They were the best shows I've ever been too. I know people will try to dismiss these shows as just another reunion that lack relevance but that is a bullshit. It felt far more relevant then a bunch of youth crew kids loosing it to cliched anthems or a bunch of sloganeering political pop punk bands looking for major label distribution for their shitty label. This was what punk is about: fast angry punk. All these bands came together to help out a friend making a zombie movie. While not a noble as say a benefit for cancer or AIDS it is still punk as fuck. I can't believe how many kids were into Fucked Up. They Live were better then ever and Think I Care are still as punishing as ever. Terminal State and Tower of Silence are two of the best new hardcore bands around. If you missed out on these shows I feel really sorry for you but then again you will probably lie and say you were there anyway.

After seeing Avail last night I have shed my robes of hardcore maturity and re-embraced my closeted pop punk past.
The following bands are amazing and say so without shame:
1)Avail- Why the fuck did I deny thee? I was like John denying Jesus, well like John let me be the one to lead the flock back to the light.
2)AFI- The only band that I wish success on. They go from strength to strength.
3)Screeching Weasle- Like the Led Zepplin of pop punk but actually good.
4)AntiFlag- sure their analysis of world affairs rings close to you at age thirteen and they are quickly becoming the crass of the pop punk world but the songs they write are for you baby.... it's like someone evolved Toxic Reasons.
5)Every other band on my grade 10 spring break mix tape... except grade they are really bad.

| Left For Dead and fucked up |

The fucked up live lp is out now. It looks insane and it sounds... well... it looks awesome (it actually sounds good but I'm not really a fan of live records). It doesn't offically come out till saturday but it is almost sold out. I guess we've hit the big time now. Speaking of Saturday, I have never looked so forward to a show in my concert going to life. For all you cats that don't know next Saturday is the Left For Dead reunion. I know reunions are gay and everything and I'm sure I have in the past made some remarks about how lame I thought the whole concept was but this is Left For Dead. They produced the best 90's record period and are the Greatest Canadian band of the 90's. If you are planning on going buy your ticket now and if you aren't going you are a fucking idiot (the people going to cuba are excused... mind you it should be known that jonah refused to go to cuba on account of this show). There are kids flying in from europe and asia for this shit not to mention driving in from all over the place. This will be the show that you will lie about seeing for years to come. I kid you not this is the show. My band will also playing, along with Think I care and They Live which on it's own would be a fun show but this is the real deal.

| I kill children |
[24 Apr 2004|09:02pm] |
If i was a serial killer i would be John Wayne Gacy If you ever had a reason to be afraid of clowns. This would be it.
Over the course of 3 years John Wayne Gacy, a part time children's party clown, would go on to sodomize, torture and murder over 30 young men, burying most of the bodies under the floor boards of his home.
Gacy would use a chloroform soaked rag to render his victims unconscious, then take them home and tie them up in his basement. He would then proceed to torture them sexually, using a varying range of dildos and sexual toys, eventually strangling them to death with a 2x4 while raping them.
kill count: 30+
Find what serial killer you would be, Take the Serial Killer Quiz now! |

Opening credits: Feederz "Jesus Entering From the Rear" Weed out the sensitive ones right off the bat.
Waking up: sonic youth w/ Mike Watt (ver.) "Tuff Gnarl" The song kinds builds in such a way that is very conducive to waking up.
Average day: YDI "Mad At The World" Kurt Cobain talks about listening to Jad Fair when he walks though malls and how he knows it would blow peoples minds... jad fair sucks and kurt cobain was a hippy. This is the music to blow minds right out of skulls. (jad fair's actally ok)
First date: Breakouts "All We Wanna Do" I think this songs has a real tension to it. You kinda think it's building towards something, like the day before a first date.
Falling in love: Roky Erickson "I Love The Living You" It's very telling that the greatest love song ever written was done so by a man in a mental institution.
Love scene: Motorhead "Iron Fist" Probably the least sexual song of all time but it does have a real dirty power to it.
Fight scene: Black Moon "Buck 'em Down" I hope it's not gonna be construed as a commentary on my feelings on rap music that the only rap song on here is the one about fighting but this song would make anyone want to fight everyone. PUNCH YOUR MOM
Breaking up: Rivals "Here Comes The Night" The Them version of this is total shit. It sounds garbage compared to this. The best break up punk song ever.
Getting back together: Nancy Butts "Let Me Be Free" There is a sense of addiction in getting back together with someone that really comes out in Nancy's begging to be left alone.
Secret love: Nick Cave "Are You The One I've Been Waiting for?" Nuff Said
Life's okay: 16 "Fucked For Life" I listen to this record after every break up. This song basically says we are all going to die sometime so fuck it.
Mental breakdown: H100s "Panic Attack".... I actually have one everytime I here this! It will seriously make you want to through yourself through a plate glass window. The best track one/side one ever!
Driving: Iggy Pop "Passenger" It's a bit cliched but it works.
Learning a lesson: Decendents "Pep Talk" Yeah we can do it!!!
Deep thought: Mission To Burma "Academy"
Flashback: Paul Williams "Someday Man" A shot in soft focus and Paul Williams in the background is why they invented flashbacks.
Partying: Big Boys "Fun, Fun,Fun"
Happy dance: Nada Surf "Hyper Space" The song Popular put me off them but their records are unreal. This song makes me want to be back in highschool pining over Alica. FUR REAL
Regretting: Smog "I Break Horses" Devastating
Long night alone: Modern Lovers "Hospital" See above
Death scene: Who "Love Reign O'Er Me" I want to die with this playing 'cause if you're gonna go go big.
Closing credits: The Aliens "I Walked With A Zombie" I'm trying to get this as the theme for the closing credits of zombie days but in the mean time this will do.

Is it lame to listen to your own band? |
] |
I felt that I shoUld resurrect this old bastard but not use it for dumb stuff that is just bullshit drama. Instead this will be used to run down all the things that annoy me, talk about music that I like AND generalLY act as an instant version of the zine that I have been threatening to unleash on this earth for ten years now.... I'm really lazy.
